The Forever of Ella and Micha (The Secret #2) Review

The Forever of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen

Ella is back at school, trying to focus on her future and forget the darkness of her past. Still, her ongoing family drama is making it harder and harder to get through the days. All she really wants is Micha, but no way will she let her problems get in the way of his dreams.

Micha is busy touring the country with his band, seemingly getting everything he's ever wanted. But deep down he knows something is missing. Being away from Ella is harder than he expected. And while he longs to have her with him, he won't ask her to leave college just to be at his side.

When Ella and Micha are together, anything seems possible . . . but lately those shared moments aren't so easy to find. When a new tragedy shakes their already fragile world, one of them will make a dramatic choice that could break them apart forever . . .

** This is the sequel to The Secret of Ella and Micha so if you haven't read it and don't want any spoilers to the first book please stop reading. You can check out my review of The Secret of Ella and Micha by clicking HERE. **

Some readers are extremely patient when it comes to waiting for sequels or more of a series... I am NOT one of those people so I have to say when The Forever of Ella and Micha got pushed back I had mixed feelings.... I was THRILLED for Jessica Sorensen because the reason on why the release was pushed back is AWESOME... but I was bummed because I was so anxious to see what was next for Ella and Micha AND I was more anxious for more of  Jessica Sorensen's work because she's another author who sucks me in emotionally!

We watched Ella begin to come back to herself in The Secret of Ella and Micha.  She had a lot of emotional struggles and was forced to grow up entirely too fast.  She grew in book one but by no means was she fixed.  In all honesty I was expecting to read some light, fluffy, sweet romantic book about how perfect Ella and Micha's lives were now that they are together.... but that is NOT what I read.  There was still a lot that Ella needed to do for herself emotionally and unfortunately because she had years of holding her emotions in and needed to find a safe healthy way to let them out.  She gets that in this book.  Don't get me wrong, she more than made me mad a few times and I had to remind myself of how damaged emotionally she really is... but when she finally lets go... it's like she's this beautiful flower that you just can't help but notice how truly beautiful she is.

I fell in absolute LOVE with Micha in The Secret of Ella and Micha and if it's even possible I feel even more in love with him in The Forever of Ella and Micha.  He is exactly what Ella needs and she is exactly what he needs.  He's got his fair share of problems and when he's forced to actually face the main reason behind the problems he's got he numbs the pain.

These two are so undeniably perfect for each other and they have that once in a lifetime love that you just know, no matter what, they will make it through anything.  And they will... but that doesn't mean that things are easy and there isn't a ton of heartbreak along the road.

Fan's of The Secret series definitely need to check out The Forever of Ella and Micha!  She takes you on this roller coaster ride of emotions that at times takes your breath away but she also shows the real side of depression and how it not only affects you but how much it affects those around you.  Jessica Sorensen has this crazy awesome talent that she more than proved in The Forever of Ella and Micha!

The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden Review

Book description…
There are those who don’t get luck handed to them on a shiny platter, who end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, who don’t get saved.
Luck was not on Callie’s side the day of her twelfth birthday when everything was stolen from her. After it’s all over, she locks up her feelings and vows never to tell anyone what happened. Six years later her painful past consumes her life and most days it’s a struggle just to breathe.
For as long as Kayden can remember, suffering in silence was the only way to survive life. As long as he did what he was told, everything was okay. One night, after making a terrible mistake, it seems like his life might be over. Luck was on his side, though, when Callie coincidentally is in the right place at the right time and saves him.
Now he can’t stop thinking about the girl he saw at school, but never really knew. When he ends up at the same college as Callie, he does everything he can to try to get to know her. But Callie is reserved and closed off. The more he tries to be part of her life, the more he realizes Callie might need to be saved.

Oh. My. God.
I freaking LOVE Jessica Sorensen!  Like seriously love her, I have developed a mad girl crush on her because of these freaking fantastic stories she writes.  I have yet to read a book of hers that I didn’t love including The Secret of Ella and Micah and The Fallen Star Series!  She pulls you so far into the story that you can’t help but feel like you’re a part of the characters and you’re experiencing everything they are right along with them.  That was more than the case with The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden!

Dear sweet Callie… how I want to hug you and tell you that everything will be okay, that you will be okay, and then try and take the hurt away from your past.  My heart seriously ached for Callie.  One event changed her entire life and I more than sympathize with her because she had to continue to…. Opps, nevermind.  I almost gave y’all a spoiler there!  Anyway, Callie is struggling with trying to go back to who she is or maybe saying she’s trying to figure out exactly who she is because she’ll never be able to go back.  While trying to figure it all out, slowly but surely, she runs into Kayden or should I say he runs into her.

Kayden has some issues of his own… he’s been trying to find the girl who saved his life for months.  He pulled at my heart too.  The things he had to face where heartbreaking and not only made me want to hug him and soothe away his hurts but also pissed me off in a way that had my heart pounding in my chest and my breathing accelerate a little.  He doesn’t do feelings, normally, but there is something about Callie that calls to Kayden and he becomes the man Callie needs in order to start healing herself.

Actually, Callie and Kayden heal each other in ways neither had ever expected but that they both, over time, became grateful for.  The patience Kayden shows is absolutely astounding… not that I haven’t seen it in books before, but like I said before Jessica sucked me so far into this book that I felt things on a different level… so to me his patience and determination meant that much more.  And then at the end…. I burst into tears.  Not only because of what had happened but because now I have to freaking wait to find out what’s next for Callie and Kayden.  Not Fair!

The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden is a MUST read.  It’s heartbreaking, it’s touching, it’s beautiful, and it’s entirely captivating.  Go… Read it...it's only 99 cents!

The Secret of Ella and Micah (The Secret #1) Review

The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen

Book description...
Ella and Micha have been best friends since they were kids. But one tragic night shatters their friendship and their lives forever.
Ella used to be a rule-breaker with fiery attitude who wore her heart on her sleeve. But she left everything behind when she went to college and transformed into someone that follows the rules, keeps everything together, and hides all her problems. But now it's summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home.
Ella fears everything she worked so hard to bury might resurface, especially with Micha living right next door. If Micha tries to tempt the old her back, she knows that it will be hard to resist.
Micha is sexy, smart, confident, and can get under Ella’s skin like no one else can. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. And he’s determined to bring his best friend, and the girl he loves back, no matter what it takes.

*Mature Content** Recommended for ages 17+ due to sexual situations and language.

Before I had even read the book description I knew that The Secret of Ella and Micah was going to be something to check out... because just look at that cover!  It's hot and beautiful all at the same time.  But then I read the description and I thought... Hmm, this looks interesting.  Because of prior commitments I didn't get a chance to read it until tonight and I have to say that I'm glad I waited... because this book and the emotions it's brought out in me, was more than worth the wait.  I couldn't put it down, I sat down after putting the kids to bed and literally read straight through to the end... only pausing long enough to have a short chat with the hubs.  I was so wrapped up in these characters that I had to know what was going to happen next.

Ella is this beautiful yet extremely damaged girl who has been running from her problems since one extremely tragic night.  She's lost and is feeling guilty.  She feels like the only way she can make up for the tragedy she feels responsible for is to become the opposite of what she's always been... who she's supposed to be.  That is until she heads home for the first time in months to face her past.  She's calm on the outside but a complete wreck on the inside and it just made me want to hug her and tell her everything would be okay... she would be okay.  But she's got a hard past to face and one of the hardest things for her to face was her feelings for her best friend Micah, who she had run from without letting him know where she was going.

I absolutely loved Micah.  He acts like your typical bad boy but under all those layers lays a young man who is determined to get not only his best friend but the girl he has been in love with back.  She may know how to push his buttons like no one else but deep down he loves every emotion she brings out in him.  He just loves her and everything out her, so seeing the girl that has returned home after leaving without a word, he feels conflicted because she's not the same, and he plans on stopping at nothing to not only bring the girl he loves back but to keep her.

The things Micah and Ella have been through were rough.  Neither of them had easy lives but they did have each other which was the only reason they managed to become the people the were... even if a little running from their problems was involved.  Their story is heartbreaking to a point but their love for each other is passionate and unconditional.  I can say in all honesty that I am most definitely looking forward to the sequel.  Jessica really doesn't leave you with a cliffhanger but she definitely left me wanting more!
