Book description....
Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think that accepting a role in an unknown film would toss his career into overdrive. His new fame has cost him dearly; anonymity is no longer an option. His fans stalk him, the paparazzi hound him, and Hollywood studios all want a piece of him. Despite all of that, Ryan Christensen craves the most basic of human needs - to have love in his heart and privacy in his life. Taryn Mitchell, the story's protagonist, is a realist. She's been feigning contentment, running the family pub in Seaport, Rhode Island, while quietly nursing her own internal heartaches. Her feet are fairly glued to the ground and she doesn't buy into all the hype that has descended on her tiny, coastal town. In her world, men are safe if they're kept at a distance. Fate has other plans for these two when their paths cross one sunny afternoon. A group of female fans has attacked him, leaving his shirt torn, his face cut, and Ryan in obvious distress. Bonds between them form from the most dramatic of circumstances while jealousy, insecurity, and the stress of his celebrity life try to tear them apart. Through all the tabloid lies, secrecy, and pressure, can Taryn's peace and Ryan's high-profile insanity live together in harmony?
Taryn was such an amazing woman...she was so loving, caring, kind hearted, and so selfless I could hardly believe it. It's so rare that you find someone that selfless....and when you find it you treasure it. After having a few relationships that sent her into the men suck club she decided it was time to give up on men and just focus on herself and her friends. Well that it until she meets Ryan Christensen who happens to run into her bar one morning while being chased by a mob of crazed women. Taryn and Ryan start off with this super sweet friendship with a lot of flirting and a lot of dodging their growing interest in one another...... so obvious they both want more but neither will make a move until Ryan finally does and he does it in such an adorable way that still leaves Taryn having to ask him what it means
"So...am I to understand that you're mine?" I asked teasingly. "I can be yours if you want me to be, Taryn," he whispered.......SIGH...... Ryan was so sweet....I usually got for more of an alpha male than Ryan was but do NOT get me wrong....Ryan totally did it for me, I don't know if it's the fact that the man was so desperate for normal or what, but he had that whole emotional yet smokin hot 'I'm gonna get what I want' vibe about him that had me asking for more....Oh yeah he totally did it for me... He knew exactly what to say, when to say it, how to say it, ect. ect. ect......hmmmm maybe I do understand the crazy psycho fans now......not that they got to see this side of Ryan but still....he was just....wow!!!!
Okay so Ryan and Taryn finally get past the awkward phase in their relationship.....YIPPEE.... and begin dating. At first Ryan keeps Taryn 'hidden' from the media but it eventually gets to the point where their relationship can no longer be secret....so....they go 'public' and Taryn starts getting a taste of what Ryan's world is like. I've gotta say... for the situations Taryn was placed in because she was dating a celebrity she handled herself a hell of a lot better than I would have. She did have to push back a few jealousies and try to get over a few hurdles but their love for each other grew and it's absolutely beautiful to watch unfold.
"Taryn Mitchell," he said, looking me in the eyes. "I love you. With all my heart."Ryan and Taryn go through a lot together, they have their ups.....and boy are their ups beautiful, hot, romantic, and sweet.....and they have their downs....talk about drama.... but they manage to overcome the obstacles that are thrown their way and there are a lot of them...most of which your every day girl wouldn't deal with....I know I questioned Taryn myself a few times wondering why she was 'dealing' with it but then I'd see how Ryan really was with her and how he spoke to her and I'd forget all about what I was questioning Taryn about. Their love for each other was so genuine that at least two different times I actually burst into tears...I mean heart pounding, big fat tears rolling down my cheeks, bawling like a baby tears.... I felt like I could actually feel Taryn and Ryan's pain....well at one point I did because I've been there and any woman who has been in that situation knows how bad it hurts. But when all was said and done they still managed to get through it together.
I've got to mention the secondary characters here....wow....they were awesome. I mean Taryn's friends were simply fantastic.....just all around good friends to Taryn and even Ryan. Not to mention the humor
"We'll sit around and reminisce about how much fun you used to be while using the cobwebs growing between your legs to knit hats for the poor!"The way they all ripped on each other had me cracking up and thinking....hmmmm....all this picking on Taryn seems quite familiar....luckily Taryn is an awesome sport and doesn't mind laughing at herself which made me like her even more ;). Her friends were wonderful....they had their weekly game of poker and were there for each other in every way possible....they were family! They supported the decisions Taryn made....they weren't always happy with her decision but they still supported it and took it upon themselves to take care of her when she really needed it and even when she really didn't. Their love for each other gave me that warm feeling in my belly that I get whenever one of my girls does something to let me know I'm special and mean something to them.....and I've had that feeling a lot over the past week ♥
Now, I'm struggling here because I really want to give you more but I can't....I had to force myself to quit typing about the book because I don't want to ruin anything. The love between these two characters is so beautifully written that I can't bring myself to give any more away. This book kept me so fascinated.... the love story was awesome, the secondary characters we're perfectly developed, and the crazy fans made me feel like this book was real. Even though Ryan is a fictional character I will be the first to stand up and say that Tina did an AWE-SOME job at showing the reality of what our celebrities face on a daily basis. My God....I seriously have to question the stability of people and I'm not just talking about the crazy fans in Love Unscripted. I mean Tina got it.....she really got it down and seeing it written so well....to the point where I felt like I was in the book.
Love Unscripted was amazing...everything about it was amazing...everything was so thoroughly written without being overdone that I was extremely impressed. It's rare that I find a book where I actually feel like I'm a part of it, it's like watching a movie, everything is right there and described so perfectly you can see it. It.....was.......AMAZING....simply amazing! You won't be disappointed....believe me, I enjoyed it so much I put it on my reread list before I was even completely finished!!!!
★ ★ On a side note......To all the celebrities and their families out there who face these situations daily - I wish you the best of luck, you do have fans out there who see you as just another person who is entitled to your privacy and the chance at getting to still live a normal life without any criticism. I personally thank you for continuing to tolerate the pests as best as you can and still give us all great entertainment! ★ ★
Happy Reading!
I have not read it yet but I did download Love Unscripted back when you told me to. I just haven't had a chance to start it yet :(
ReplyDeleteI loved Love Unscripted. You hit it right on the nose too. Tina did an amazing job at describing everything without over doing it at all. I love her writing style and the romance in this book was breath taking. I need my boyfriend to treat me the way Ryan treats Taryn. I'd be in hog heaven if he did rofl. I can not wait for Love Unrehearsed to come out. I read the first chapter on Tina's website - have you read that yet?
ReplyDeleteI loved this book so much! I can't wait for the next one to come out.... let me know if you know of any other books like this, other than the obvious beautiful disaster, thoughtless, etc.
