At Grave's End (Night Huntress #3) Review

At Grave's End by Jeaniene Frost is another fabulous addition to the heart pounding Night Huntress Series.

                                                                         Book description...
It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield's life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she's successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat's worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover's finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.
As if that wasn't enough, a woman from Bones's past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat's about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she's learned as a special agent won't help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with this book because now Cat and Bones are married... at least in the vampire way.... and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised that the only problems they seemed to have were small ones that just needed a little silent treatment here and there or actually talking it out... which is something our adorable couple had never been too good at in the past.  Their love for each other is solid.... finally after all these years.

When it comes to my review I have to admit I'm kind of at a loss of what I want to say.  I really can't go on about the love between Cat and Bones because... well this book seemed to be more of a suspenseful novel than a romantic one, now that does not mean that you don't see and feel the love between Cat and Bones... especially at one point where.... oops, so not gonna tell.... it's too much for me to give away but I will tell you I was in tears, I mean rolling down my cheeks, heart racing, breathing a little faster tears.  Fortunately there are still those amazing secondary characters... and even some awesome new ones... that Jeaniene has given us that make that pain just a little better and help shed some light on what now needs to be done... at least until that pain is healed.

As with the previous two Night Huntress books there is still that hilarious sarcastic humor throughout the book.... Cat as always is quite the smart ass and that includes in her thoughts which is even better in this book considering Bones can now read her mind as well as two other characters.

Okay so remember how much of a bitch her Mom was when it came to her relationship with Bones or any vampire for that matter?.... yeah well... let's just say that Justina is definitely putting her foot in her mouth in this book and boy was it worth it to read.... priceless definitely priceless ;)

The one thing I want to complain about is Annette... I do NOT like her, I don't care what Cat says about her and how she feels a little compassion but I do NOT like her.  I do not like how she feels she is entitled to say and do as she pleases to Bones, I do not like how she continues to confess her love for him to Cat... I just do not like her and all I can say is that Cat is a way better woman than I cause I can tell ya right now there is NO WAY I'd be putting up with any of that shit no matter what the circumstances were....

At Grave's End (Night Huntress, Book 3) was a great addition to the Night Huntress Series.  I am so engrossed in the love between Cat and Bones and can't wait to find out what happens next, not only between them but also with all the amazing secondary characters that I'm considering giving myself a weekend Night Huntress Marathon....  Make sure you check out this series... the love, the suspense, the heartbreak, the friendships.... it's all amazing and will have you wanting more!!!

Happy Reading!

One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress #2) Review

One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 2) by Jeaniene Frost is an awesome second book in this addicting series.

*This review will contain spoilers if you have not read  Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 1)yet.  Check out the review of book one Here.

Book description....
You can run from the grave, but you can't hide . . .Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind. Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won't let her get away again.

Okay so I'm going to start off by saying this book totally made up for me being so pissed off at Cat for leaving Bones at the end of Half Way to the Grave....in more ways than you're thinking too and I'll give you a little hint....Chapter 32.... just sayin' ;-)

Cat is now working for the FBI in a special department that investigates paranormal activity.  She's acquired a team that consists of..... Don (her boss), Tate, Juan, Dave, and Cooper (These names will be important later as you'll see a lot of them throughout the series.).  They work together in tracking down vampires that they either kill or capture.  On an assignment Cat comes in contact with one of Bones life long friends, Ian, and ends up letting him go with his life because she feels that she owes Bones for all he did for her..... plus she's still madly in love with him.  Because of this she has now caught Ian's attention and now Ian wants to "acquire" her for himself.

Cat and Bones are still estranged from each other but that changes when they see each other for the first time....or at least Cat sees Bones for the first time in four years at her best friend Denise's wedding.  She tries to avoid him at all costs because she knows that her self control is very minimal around him
Why did he have to be so gorgeous, why did he have to stand so close, and why did I still love him so much?
Bones sets out to make a point...... knowing she has a silver knife in her hands and has the opportunity to kill him, he bites her and drinks her blood slowly to give her time to make her choice.  She does by dropping the knife and clinging to Bones.....can he get any hotter?  I mean seriously the guy is so freaking hot I wanted to reach in the book and pull him out and keep him in my pocket so I could hear him talk in that sexy accent anytime I want.  Not to mention I had this urge to reach in the book and smack Cat for not running to his arms, profess her undying love for him, and apologize profusely for leaving him....I'm still a little mad at her for that.

Cat knows she can't live without Bones but still tries to keep her distance.  Bones doesn't plan on letting her get away again because just like Cat, he couldn't live with out her and asks for her trust so they can be together
"So you tried to get on with your life because you believed it would never work between us.  But you see, I couldn't get on with my life because I knew we could work.  I've been looking for you every day since you left me, Kitten, and I'm sick of being without you.  You've had your shot at things, now let me have mine."
Seriously.....how could she resist him?  She has his understanding of why she left him and he's asking for another shot at them together because he has no doubts.  BUT....she still thinks her age will hurt them and he'll get tired of her..... take it as long as you can get it sister.....I know I would ;-)  Bones lets her in on a little secret regarding her lifespan that Don knew about so Cat being Cat flies off the handle and gives Don a little piece of her mind..... then takes a week off work ;)

Finally.....FINALLY...... Cat gives Bones his shot, there are conditions but he doesn't care what they are as long as Cat is in his life again. Their celebrating is short lived because not only does her Mother find out but one of her team members watches Bones walk into Cat's  house.  So she gets called into work and is forced to listen to and see her team treat her as though she is putting all them in jeopardy all because of a dead guy
"You know the old saying, Once you go dead, no one's better in bed."
O.M.G.....♥ it!  It was perfect timing!  Her team is NOT happy about Bones being around and they take to watching her even more closely.  It's not until Cat is almost murdered by a hit man, Bones sneaks into the compound and finds the person responsible for Cat's almost murder that the team....with the exception of Tate..... accepts Bones being a part of them.  Not that they really accept him because after all he is still a vampire, but they realize that he has Cat's best interest in mind and will do anything to not only keep her safe but make her happy.  Plus he goes beyond and helps out one of the team members.... in a pretty big way... such a big way that the rest of the team was not only grateful but also looked at Bones in a new light!

I absolutely LOVE Cat and Bones together.....he's so smitten and in love that he literally does anything and everything to make her happy and she is so territorial of him that....well just wait until you read why she wanted chapter 32 to happen the way it happened ;-) although she got it a little better than asked for.....

One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 2)  by Jeaniene Frost is a highly entertaining read that will have you begging for more....Begging for more Cat and Bones that is.  I'm anxious to start At Grave's End and see what happens next with our adorable couple.  Jeaniene has done such an amazing job at building up the characters that you feel a connection with them, you can't help but root for the happily ever after for Cat and Bones!  The secondary characters are just as amazing, they're well rounded and just as much a part of the story as our main characters.  After reading Halfway to the Grave you definitely have to read One Foot in the Grave.... you will not be disappointed and if you're like me and got mad at Cat....well you may still be frustrated with her but you'll be over-joyed that she's back with Bones and even more over-joyed with the ending of One Foot in the Grave!

Happy Reading!

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress #1) Review

Book description.......
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.
In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner—are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Cat is a twenty-two year old half vampire who has been killing vampires for 6 years.  She's been programed to despise vampires by her Mother, who I think in a small way is resentful of Cat because she is half 'thing'....I have to admit I got kind of mad at Cat for putting up with how her Mom treated her....I get that she was her Mom and she loved her but Cat deserved the unconditional love only a Mother can give and she certainly did not get that from her Mom!

Using herself as bait to lure vampires out of the clubs so she could drive a stake in their hearts, Cat was succeeding in her mission to destroy the monster that raped her Mom and was unfortunately also her father......that is until she met one very sexy English vampire she couldn't handle.

Bones.....sweet mother of God....Bones.  Picture Spike from Buffy the Vampire (the T.V. Show)!  O.M.G. freaking hot with a sexy English accent that had my mind working overtime not to curl my toes especially when he was trying to dirty talk the blush right out of Cat... the dirty talk....omigod the dirty talk... it's like Eddie from R.C. Rescue all over again.....Bones is so good at the dirty talk it's like he's already in your pants and hasn't even lifted a finger ....I think I need to take a break because remembering all that well..............

So Bones and Cat make a deal.  They work together with conditions....Cat will get to continue on her mission of vengeance but she will only be able to kill the vampires Bones picks.  They work wonderfully together and eventually start to open up to each other.  With some prompting Cat gives Bones a little of her not so happy past when it comes to 'boyfriends' and also confesses she has never been to a club to just dance and have fun.  So when they get to the club the next night Bones tells Cat about her target then takes off into the crowd......little does she know he made himself her target in hopes of giving her a night of dancing and having fun.  He teaches her to dance and she starts to really get into it....so much so her and Bones share their first kiss
"Kitten, you need to make a decision.  Either we stay here and behave or we leave now and I promise you" his voice dipped lower and the words fell against my lips "if we leave, I won't behave."

Cat continues to struggle with what she is feeling towards Bones.  She freaked out the morning after their kiss and struggles with the emotions she's feeling because she wants to be around him but her mind keeps telling her it's better to stay away because he is a monster.....I don't get her hesitation....who cares that he drinks blood, the man is hotter than all get out and he clearly knows how to take care of her while she gets her revenge even if it is against his own kind....come on Girlie - get in there!!!!

Cat finally calls Bones after finding herself in a wee bit of trouble and he comes to her rescue.  After all the clean up Bones finally gets through to Cat and gets her to look at him, look at the man he is instead of the vampire
My God, he was beautiful.  Absolutely, incredibly beautiful, and now that I'd finally allowed myself to notice, I couldn't stop staring.  "Kiss me."
YIPPEEE!!!!!....it's about damn time she realized what she had in Bones.  But even after what they shared together....which by the way was so hot as in a cold shower wouldn't have done anything to cool it down.....she still tries to push him away because of what he is.  Only this time he isn't giving her a choice when it comes to staying away
"I can't just let us go our separate ways, Kitten, because I am in love with you.  I love you."
So Bones and Cat..the couple....begin and I have to say I absolutely ♥ them together.  They're both territorial of each other and let me just tell you Cat's way of showing....someone she considers a threat......that Bones is hers and hers only is downright hysterical!  I mean I LMAO.... I could hardly see straight.  But her reaction pleases Bones....extremely pleases him and he shows his gratitude...... in another one of those cold shower moments..... in the stairwell of a hotel.

They have a few struggles in their relationship.....mostly Cat not wanting to confess to her mother that her boyfriend/love of her life is a blood sucking monster but the deep feelings she has for him don't keep her away for too long.
"I love you, Bones."  A weight seemed to lift from me I hadn't known was there.  Funny how much I'd feared something that shouldn't have frightened me at all.
Sadly the love that Cat feels for Bones runs so deep she is willing to do something that I won't share with you because it will ruin the book but O.M.G. it pissed me off.......Once you've read this book please let me know how you felt about Cat's decision....I want to make sure I'm not the only one who understood her choice but at the same time couldn't believe she actually followed through with it.

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost is an absolutely awesome read.  The suspense keeps you on your toes and keeps you rooting for the safety of Cat and Bones, the romance is hot and at the same time beautiful, the characters are amazing and so well built.  This was an excellent paranormal read that had me wishing for my very own 240 year old English vampire ;)  Make sure you check it out!  I'm quite anxious to read One Foot in the Grave to find out what happens with our lovely characters next!

Big Thanks to my girl Kim for your help in getting started with this review ♥
