One of the entries is leaving a comment below and telling me about your best Christmas Present ever... I figured I could share mine with y'all because it's a bitter sweet one for me...

Tree partially cut away from the Roof
A little over two years ago, a nasty storm came through St. Louis and we had a tree fall through our roof and when I say it fell through our roof...  I mean it actually fell through my bedroom so at 4am my husband and I ended up covered in dry wall, insulation, and even some decking (Not Fun!  Insulation is extremly itchy and scratches, dry wall hurts when it falls on you, and decking will leave some nasty scratches on your skin)

Check out those pictures.

After Tree was completely removed
Here's the thing, we were lucky the tree fell where it did because had it have fallen anymore towards the right it would have landed through my (at the time) 13 month old's room and would have done even more damage to not only the house but would have severely hurt him as well.  I choose to believe our Guardian Angels, as well as a few others were with us that morning!

My bedroom, approx 18 inches of insulation on the floor.
So we were forced out of our home and ended up living in a hotel for 11 weeks.  It was not fun.  At All!  Because here's the deal... we were told we wouldn't get back home until Mid - January so we were going to have to celebrate Christmas in a hotel and my (at the time) 4 year old was worried about how Santa was going to find us.

BUT....

Because the Tree Service company (Who is not only a good friend of the family but is freaking awesome), the roofers who laid out an entire new roof, the cleaning crew, and the construction foreman worked hard to get everything done as soon as possible... we were able to move back home on December 23rd and were able to celebrate Christmas in our house instead of a hotel.  Granted we didn't have much furniture because my bedroom furniture and our (at the time) 4 year old's furniture were complete losses due to water damage and insulation that could not be removed... but we made due with air mattresses, sleeping bags, and yes even a pop up tent.

That was my best Christmas Gift Ever!!!!

I want to hear about yours!!!!  So Go Enter!!!!!!

Good Luck, I hope that you are one of the winners who may receive a specially gift wrapped package from yours truly!!!!

  4. It wasn't exactly a present but I still look at it that way. I had been in the hospital for almost a month and I came home to the entire house decorated by my 4 kids all who were under 8. It wasn't the greatest decorating job in the average persons eyes but to me it was the most beautiful thing I ever could have seen.

  8. I know it is cheesy but a healthy baby. They'd had some concerns after my first ultrasound so we had two more done and the final level 2 ultrasound at the holidays showed the fluid levels were holding steady on the higher end of the normal range so he was going to be fine. Two years later we have a happy healthy little boy.

  9. Honestly, I can't say that I have a favorite. They've all been wonderful but I guess if I had to pick one it would be my kindle. I had gotten a nook when they first came out and hated it with a passion and back then kindles weren't really cheap. So finally my parents bought me one and it is the best thing ever!

  16. The best gift ever was 16 years ago. I was a single mother and my daughter was 8. I was going through some financial difficulties and had just started dating my husband, only a few weeks prior. One night in Dec, I was telling him that I was going to have to tell my daughter that there was no Santa Claus, he just listened and held me. The following weekend when she was visiting her dad, my husband came over with a car full of toys. Yes, there is a Santa Claus, that year, I learned the meaning of true love and family. We married a year after, and had a wonderful son. That year 16 years ago, Santa return my faith in people, gave me my soul mate and my best friend and the family I've always wanted.

    Merry Christmas!
