Blessed Fate
by HB Heinzer
Colton Bradford never believed in love at first sight. And then, Rain Maxwell walked through his buddy's front door. He knew there was something special underneath the shy, guarded exterior and was determined to find out what it was.The problem? Rain had devised her own set of life rules and “Never get involved with a band mate” was right near the top of that list. She allowed Colton into her heart as one of her closest friends, but pushed him away at the mention of anything more. When tragedy strikes Rain's personal life, Colton is determined to be there for her in whatever way she'll allow. Will she finally open up to him and consider taking things to the next level? Will Colton's ways of trying to bury his feelings for Rain in the past ruin the possibility of a future for them?
First of all I have to say that I was a little mad at myself that I didn't realize Blessed Fate was the second book in the Blessed Tragedy series.... HOWEVER, I will say that even though I saw numerous people on Goodreads saying you really needed to read Blessed Tragedy first I have to disagree. I'm not typically a fan of same story but different POV and lets just say that I really enjoyed Colton's POV!!! I didn't feel like I needed Rain's thoughts in this story because of the way HB Heinzer tells it. I could still feel her emotions through Colt's words and I could sympathize with her as well as understand why she did and said some of the things that happened.
Falling for a girl and knowing that nothing will probably ever come of it, is obviously hard. But Colt did not disappoint. I'm sure there will people out there that hate how he tried to "forget" Rain... but in all reality can you blame the guy? I couldn't and the funny thing is that even though I'm usually that reader who gets all mad at the hero for those things I couldn't help but understand them better and I think a lot of that was because I saw it all through his eyes. His love for Rain was strong and true and even though he made a lot of stupid decisions his love for her seemed to grow day by day.
Blessed Fate was a great read... it was a little more telling instead of feeling but HB Heinzer definitely pulled off the male POV which is something that a lot of authors struggle with! I'm looking forward to hopefully reading the other guys books.
If you haven't read Blessed Tragedy and would like to read it first click (HERE ) because as of right now 6/29/13 it's free on Amazon!!!!
Check out this extremely HOT Dream Cast HB Heinzer has picked out for her character in the Blessed Tragedy Series:
Rain: Lzzy Hale
Colton: Tavis Stanley
Jon: Mikael Kenta
Travis: Andrew Stetson
Jared: Lucas Bernardini
I'm seriously crushing on ALL of them right about now... but O.M.G. look at Travis' eyes!!!!!
With the exception of three years in Nebraska, H.B. Is a Wisconsin girl through and through. She lives with her husband, two kids and roommate (also known as the “bonus parent”) in the middle of nowhere but close enough to civilization to maintain a shred of sanity. She credits her father introducing her to an APAzine in the mid-90s for her love of writing. Bent, her debut novel, was a NaNoWriMo challenge to write 50,000 words in one month. After years of attempting and failing, she finally got through it and this is the result!
