Fall From Grace Review

Fall From Grace by Christine Zolendz

Book description...
I'm finally home after struggling through my brother's illness and death. But, home is definitely a bit different. My best friend (the only person alive now that knows my secret) has a new boyfriend; and he has a friend. Shane Maxton: bad boy, tattooed rock god, eye candy extraordinaire. He is also New York City's most arrogant, self-serving, son of a, well, a definite one-night stand kind of a guy.
But, it doesn't matter to me because I've spent my existence looking for the love of my life, my angel. And, there is nothing that Shane Maxton can do to change that.

I have to start this post off by giving big huge thanks to my girl Sam... if it weren't for her and her bossy ways I wouldn't have gotten to Fall From Grace when I did.  I've been in a bit of a slump lately, the books I'd read just weren't doing it for me to the point where I either couldn't finish them or just didn't feel passionate enough to share my thoughts on the books I'd read.  So here's how it went:
Sam: "What are you reading?"
Lori: "This book that in all reality is so not good."
Sam: "I just finished this book, you need to go get it."
Lori: "I'm so far behind on my reviews that I have to find something that I will want to review"
Sam: "Go get this book, you will want to review it."
So needless to say I listened to Sam, even though I got a lecture when I was about a forth of the way through the book and called her to talk about what I read because I had to get something off my chest and here is how that went:
Lori: "OMG I am loving this book Sammy"
Sam: "I told you, but you never listen to me, would I steer you in the in the wrong direction?"
Lori: "I know you wouldn't, you've always got my back, but I really, really need something I can review because the past 7 books I've read have just kind of fallen flat"
Sam: "Will you listen to me?  Go read it Lori, you're going to love it."
And I did!  I loved the characters even though at times Grace made me so mad I could have smacked the heck out of her... but I did still lover her.  She was compassionate to a fault and the quality I liked best?  Was that she really didn't take anything off of anything.  She was her own person and not afraid to be who she was.  But like I said she did make me mad, and I mean she made me so mad that I wanted to yank her out of the book by her hair and ask her what her problem was.... not that she would have understood what I was talking about because even though it is obvious to me it clearly wasn't to her... and no I'm not telling you what because that will give it away even though I'm sure you'll come to the same conclusion I did!

Then there is Shane.... Yum, Yum, Yum... he totally did it for me.  His bad boy persona and those panty charming words of his... oh yeah, needless to say that boy got my blood boiling!  He sees something in Grace that he wants and not for just one night, there is something about her he feels like he has to get to know.  He shows this vulnerable side of himself to Grace that just makes you want to hug him and love him forever.... if only he had that "one thing" that Grace was looking for!

This story is amazing but it's one of those that you have to go into blindly so you can experience the shock value of some of the events that take place.  There were quite a few times I was blown away by a situation or the behavior of a person... one character in particular shocked me speechless... I mean I was so shocked I called Sam and was like WTF was that about?

Just a fair warning Fall From Grace does leave you with a cliff-hanger... but it's one of those cliff-hangers that leaves you with not only hope but with that anxious "when is the next book coming out" feeling.  I for one can not wait for Christine to get the next book out there!!!

Make sure you check out Sam's review of Fall From Grace over at Totallybooked!!!!

Happy Reading!
