Hilarious Interview with Author Colleen Hoover

You want to know how lucky I am?  Well I'm going to tell you... I'm so lucky because I have gained another friend, I've gotten to know a little about Colleen after I read her books Slammed (Slammed Series #1) and Point of Retreat (Slammed Series #2).... I've learned that on top of having an incredible talent she is an amazing person and so down to earth it's not even funny!  So I asked her if I could interview her for my readers and since I've explained before that I am not normal I wanted to make this fun and ask some completely random off the wall questions... not to mention I'm sure a lot of you have seen her mention Austrenglish on her blog or facebook... so I asked her to answer all her questions in Austrenglish Pirate speak  (Which is what my girls and I have started calling it when Colleen does her Australian accent... lol).... Hope you enjoy getting to see a different side of the amazeballs Author... I mean Authorball.... Colleen Hoover

I have to know.... WHERE did you learn how to speak such fluent amazeballs austrenglish pirate?
Colleen: Argh, that's a harrrd 'un.  Meh spent sooo much time salin' tha internet, gettin' ta know tha likes of amazeballs people all ova tha world, it jes sorta rubbed off on meh, ya know?

Lori: I know exactly what you mean... I tried after getting to know some of my amazeballs Aussie friends but couldn't pull it off, I just sounded stupid lol

FUN!
If you were stranded on an Island and had to choose one fictional character to come to life and join you.... who would it be?
Colleen: Well there was this movie when aye was a wee bit of a girl called Drop Dead Fred.  I would sooo bring Fred with meh.  Ya know?  Keep things interesting?  What a riot of a time we'd have.  Argh!

Lori: OMG Fred is awesome.  That was one of my favorite movies as a kid and I have to admit you'd have loads of fun!

Will or Gavin?
Colleen: Yeh know I gotta go with an Avett Brother.  Argh!  That wasn't tha question, eh?  Fine, fine.  WILL!  Hands down, WILL! That boy could teach me a lesson or two!  Or three.  Or four or five or six.  Ya get tha picture!

Lori: Oh I get the picture alright... you're hoping you'll be the only one in detention!

Right before 3rd trip to the moon, 2009
How would you describe yourself in 3 completely random words?
Colleen: Ah, Crickey!  Let's see here.
Amazeballs
Morbid
Even-keel

Cooper or Jackson?
Colleen:Jackson FUR SHUR!  Mile high club, here we come!

Lori: You know I interviewed Cooper and Jackson and even scored a date with Jackson, granted I'm happily married and we all know that he is madly in love with Caroline but still... maybe I'll have to fly home with him.. you know to make sure he gets there safely ;)

What would you do if you had a time machine?
Colleen: I would go back ta December when meh was writin' meh book and I would write myself into Slammed as a hot teacher and I would have Will make out with meh!

Lori: You totally should have done that!  Can you put me in there as one of Will's hot best friends wife or girlfriend?  LOL, just kidding.... well kind of.

Who is your favorite character from your books and why?
Colleen: Meh absolute favorrrite character es the gnome with tha broken red hat.  That lad is a riot!  He bangs like a dunny door in a hurricane!    He was always just a chillin' out with his smug little grin like he had a front row seat.  Aye, what a guy, eh?

Who would win in a battle.... a ninja or a pirate?
Zombie
Colleen: This questions is ridiculous.  This es quite possibly tha dumbest damn question I've eva been arsked!   A ninja and a pirate would neva be en a situation which would require them to battle.   A ninja is a land dwelling mammal, whereas a pirate es a water God.  Jesus, Lori!  Get it togetha!

Lori: LOL I was aiming for random and fun you party pooper.

If you could ask your readers any question what would it be?
Colleen: Crickey!  I don't ask...I tell.  So, I would tell them ta go buy an Avett Brothers album and dance their merry arses off!  Peace, love and Avett!  ARRRRGH!

Lori: Thanks again for doing this Colleen, you really are an amazing person and I'm so glad I've gotten the opportunity to get to know you!

So there you have it.... She may be an incredible writer but Colleen Hoover is also an incredible woman, who is down to earth, funny as all get out, and an all around gem!  If you haven't read her books Check them out... they are beautiful stories that will leave you craving more of her fabulous creative talent!

Wow... can I just say WOW!!!!!!  Colleen has definitely made me a fan all over again.  Another author that has gotten herself into my heart and it has nothing to do with the fact that I won an autographed copy of one of her books... it's because she has a talent that keeps me interested... it consumed me... and when I say consumed I mean like the way KA's books consume me... YES my wonderful fellow book lovers she is THAT good.

☆★☆ Warning...If you have yet to read Slammed .....  this review will give away spoilers to Slammed so make sure you go read it first and then come back ☆★☆

Oh how I love to spend time with these characters... and the fact that there are more characters introduced, well at least the good ones, just made the book that much more fun!

Lake and Will are finally together and falling more in love everyday.  Their relationship is a bit different since Will is raising his brother, Caulder, and now Lake is raising Kel, but they manage and I have to say they seem to be doing an amazing job raising two young boys even though they are both still kids themselves.  Things are going wonderfully for Lake and Will... it's beautiful to see how these two work together in just about every aspect of life and they make everything work, and they make it seem effortless.  Lake's mom made sure to leave behind special gifts not only for Lake and Kel but also for Lake and Will.  As a mother it's our job to give our children advice and help them grow into the wonderful adults we all hope our children will become... Lake's mom... well, she did something so special, so touching that I had tears in my eyes... She found a way to make sure that Will and Lake will continue to get that much need advice or words of comfort from a loving mother even though she couldn't physically be there to give it to them!

Okay so have you ever had to make a decision on whether or not to tell someone about something?  Well someone from Will's past comes back into his life, he isn't welcoming of this person but yet he's conflicted if he should share the news with Lake or not... Unfortunately for him, he chose not to tell her.  I understood his decision here... the last thing he wanted was to put doubt into Lake's mind, make her retreat from him... but he also made the wrong decision because it ended up costing him.   Now here's where it got funny... the lengths that Will was willing to go to talk to Lake was downright hysterical.... involving kids, very intelligent kids at that, was so funny I found myself cracking up... now mind you I pulled an all nighter with Slammed and Point of Retreat so it was probably around 2 or 3 in the morning when I was reading all this.. which just made it that much more funny to me.....

Lake is very stubborn and I have to say that I have got to hand it to the girl for really making Will work for it.... at first I was also a little upset about her making him work so hard for it because it was so clear... crystal clear how Will felt about Lake and that she felt the same way... That is until her reasons for making him work for it came out.  They were extremely valid reasons, reasons a typical 19 year old wouldn't think about... I don't think most adults would even think about them, reasons that could make or break any relationship...  and that was when I knew that Lake was making the right decision, not only for herself but for Will too.   But don't worry my friends... our dear Will continues to fight for Lake because he believes in his love for her, he believes in their love for each other.

"And no, I don't need days, or weeks, or months to think about why I love you.
It's and easy answer for me.
I love you because of you.
Because of
every
single
thing
about you."

Point of Retreat (Slammed series) by Colleen Hoover is an absolutely beautiful story of why it's important to fight for those we love... fight for why we love them... continue to show them why they are important to us.... and most importantly to fight for the most beautiful thing there is to cherish.... Love!  I was touched with both Slammed and Point of Retreat, they both show so many life lessons that have to be learned or dealt with that you can't help but walk away from the books feeling the warmth of the love these two kids share not only with each other but with their families, and their friends... who are more like extended family.  These books show us how important it is to cherish what we have with the special people in our lives and continue to open our hearts for others.  Colleen has a gift and I say from the bottom of my heart that I can not wait to read more of her work.

Happy Reading!

Slammed (Slammed Series) by Colleen Hoover is wonderful, amazing, fantastic, one of the best books I've read this year.

Enter Will Cooper: the attractive twenty-one year old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for slam poetry. After a night together that turns out to be everything but the expected, both Layken and Will are left with feelings they never knew they could have. Unfortunately in Layken's life, things are never what they seem. Just as quickly as it develops, their relationship is derailed by a shocking revelation, sparking a tumultuous battle between their hearts and their ethics.
As if the dramatic turn of events in her life isn't enough, Layken is slammed again when her mother reveals a secret of her own. A secret so intense, all of Layken's current problems pale in comparison to her seemingly insurmountable future. Struggles ensue as both Layken and Will search for a balance between that which keeps them apart and the feelings that pull them together.

First of all let me start off by Thanking my sweet friends Jenny and Sam for recommending this book to me.  I was in complete awe of how amazing it was... that awe of amazement was so high that I didn't even take the time to write my review before I picked up the second book to this series.

There's so much that I'd LOVE to share with you about this book... things I'd love to just get off my chest about this book right here in this post, but I can't..... Shh, I have to keep this quiet or Jenny is going to give me a hard time for saying I can't give out any spoilers because I begged her... and I mean begged... to give me something, anything about this book because I was losing my  mind with all the heart break and most especially with the dance Will and Lake were doing.  Of course she said no and then she changed the subject on me and got my mind off it so I could go back to concentrating on this story.  At the time I was not happy but now that I've read the book and I know what happens I have to say that in this once instance I am glad she didn't give me anything... I'm glad I experienced that beauty first hand.... So even though I know you are going to give me a hard time over this... and that's okay because I'll just make sure to get you blushing at work again... Thank You Jenny ♥!!!!!

Lake and Will are both amazing.  They are both so loyal  that their sense of family and the love they both have for their brothers, who were best friends, brought tears to my eyes.  I know family is important to most everyone but it's not often that you see that close of a bond between siblings.... I know my brothers love me but if I were in that situation I don't know that either of them would have done what..... See?  Bare with me here my friends I want to give you as much as I can without taking away from the book!  Anyway, the family love that is still in tact after everything these characters have been through is special... it's absolutely beautiful.

Then you've got the romance, this is where I have so much I want to get off my chest... no, need to get off my chest because I just wanted it to work out for Lake and Will... Their feelings were so obvious that I actually got mad at my Kindle because what I wanted wasn't happening... I wanted Lake and Will together but understood the reasons they couldn't be.... That does not mean that Will and his damn self control didn't grate on my nerves because it did to the point that I actually had to remind myself that his reasons meant something, that meaning was quite precious, and losing that control would affect more than just him and Lake.  Even understanding, I still had a number of options going through my head on how they could be together... but have to say after finishing the story and then even moving on to Point of Retreat before writing my review I was more than satisfied... I was glad my ideas didn't actually happen because their relationship is more than special, quite frankly their relationship is one of a kind.  They couldn't be together but that doesn't mean that Will was not there for Lake when she needed him most and just knowing what they went through, what Will was there for Lake for, and even what Will had gone through made their relationship.... beautiful!

"I got schooled this year
by
a
boy.
a boy that I'm seriously, deeply, madly, incredibly, and undeniably
in love with.
And he taught me the most  important thing of all...
To put the emphasis
On life."

Slammed (Slammed Series) by Colleen Hoover is by far one of the most beautiful books I have read this year!  There is so much heart break but all that heart break is wrapped up in so much love that you can't help but ride those waves and cheering for our amazing characters.  Every single character pulled at my heart in one way or another and I can't help but feel like I'll be missing something once I've written my review of Point of Retreat because I'll no longer be spending time with all of them.  The beauty in these books and the impressive talent of Colleen Hoover will keep me wanting more... wanting to reread these books and hoping for more awe-inspiring work from Collen!

☆★☆ Once you've read Slammed make sure you come back and check out this Video from Colleen's website... It's beautiful, it makes one of the poems from Slammed that much more special, it seems to give it's beauty and the meaning behind the words that much more! ☆★☆

Check it out!  You'll love these amazing books!

Happy Reading!
