The Proposition Review

The Proposition by Katie Ashley

Book description...
With her thirtieth birthday looming, Emma Harrison finds her biological clock clanging and the elusive knight in shining armor yet to appear. She’s running out of options, especially after her gay best friend backs out from being her sperm donor. Of course, there’s always a sperm bank, but Emma fears a donor mix-up might impregnate her with the spawn of Satan.
Resident company womanizer, Aidan Fitzgerald, is used to always getting what he wants, especially in the bedroom. When Emma spurns his advances at the company Christmas party, he's determined to have her no matter what it takes. After Aidan learns of Emma's predicament, he is quick to offer a proposition that will benefit them both. He will father Emma's child, but she must conceive it with him naturally. Not one for hook-ups or casual sex, Emma is reluctant to take him up on his offer, but his charm, coupled with her intense desire for motherhood, wins out.
Soon their baby-making sessions become more than just physical. Aidan can't seem to walk away from her while Emma begins to wonder if Aidan could be the one. But can Aidan leave his past behind to become the man Emma needs him to be?

Well stick a fork in me 'cause I am done... not really because there is another book and I really, really want to know what's going to happen next!  But for the love of Pete... This book totally did it for me!  In a number of ways - Bad boy/player turned sweet and loving - Check!  A heroine who desperately wants 'more' with said bad boy but is afraid to push him too hard too fast - Check!  An ending that freaking knocked my socks off because I don't know if I want to punch them or hug them - Double Check!

Emma was a total sweetheart, granted I didn't totally get her desperation to have kids even if it means she'll be a single mother... but I've also never been there so who am I to judge!  However, I was able to quickly forget about that because she was so loveable and compassionate... not to mention the poor woman just needed a little happy, especially after everything she has been through in her life.  So as I got to know her I grew to love her and the decisions she made... even though some of those decisions broke my heart for her.

Where would you want to look for a 'sperm donor'?  Seriously?  I really do want to know... because I know that I personally, would have chosen the same methods as Emma... all in the sexy arms of Aidan!  Good Lord that man is not only smokin' hot but he's also smart, funny, and even has a heart of gold (whether he will admit it or not).  I just wanted to wrap him up and open him as my birthday present... damn, I just remembered I just had a birthday... because I loved him!

Yes, he struggled with his feelings when he actually realized what he was doing.  But he kept going back to Emma because he knew in his heart that she was the one.  And then.... he ticked me off and I mean really ticked me off... but here is where I have to hand it to Katie and how she handled the situation... because she made me feel sorry for him just enough that I was curious, I am curious, and I can not wait to read the next book!  The Proposition is definitely one to check out, if you don't fall for Aidan the way that I did then... well.. I guess that just means more Aidan for me!

Wraith Redeemed by Melissa Fox

We've had a lot of amazing books released her lately!  We have even more that look extremely promising scheduled to release in the near future.
We've met a lot of upcoming authors lately and y'all know how much I love meeting new authors and seeing all the different writing styles and creative story lines.   With that said....

Let’s put our hands together for a warm welcome to Author Melissa Fox!

Melissa lives in the Pacific Northwest on an island with her husband and dogs.

An avid reader of any and all genres since she could turn a page, Melissa remembers being rationed Hardy Boys and Black Stallion novels like most kids were rationed candy. Getting lost in a captivating, exhilarating story is her favorite way to spend time, whether reading or writing. Nothing is better than being drawn into a story so deeply you don't realize you're turning a page until you've reached the end, and the characters live on in your heart and mind long after the cover has been closed.

Melissa’s debut Novel:

Wraith Redeemed (Wraith #1)
by Melissa Fox

Book description…
Demon-slayer Conor O’Shea is about to engage in the most dangerous encounter of his life—facing the woman he scorned.

For years, Merry Bradbury's world revolved around Conor O'Shea. After his sudden betrayal leaves her alone and heartbroken, she comes home to settle her past and move into the future. The last person she expects to see is Conor.

Conor never wanted anything more than forever with Merry. Discovering he is a Wraith warrior, honor bound to fight demons, destroys that plan. Merry is his Amorta, his one true soul mate, but he leaves to keep her safe from the evil that stalks him.

Eight years later, Conor's worst fear is realized, and he returns to defend Merry from his enemies. Can he save her from an unspeakable fate and reclaim her heart? And if he does, will Merry be able to accept all that he is?

Looks pretty good right?  Check out the two excerpts below!

Excerpt #1:

“Stay here,” Conor told her. “Don’t move, no matter what you see. No matter what happens, Merry. Stay right here.”

He waited until she nodded her assent before he turned. The woman hissed, and his shoulders rolled as he took a step toward her. Merry’s eyes grew round when long-bladed weapons appeared in his hands.

“Wraith,” the woman snarled, lowering herself into a half-crouch.

The wicked blades twisted in his hands to point in her direction. He took another step toward the redhead, unnaturally swift but pure and beautiful in his power.

“Go now,” he said in a quiet, even tone. “And I’ll let you live one more day."

The woman’s attention left him for an instant to settle on Merry, her eyes narrowing with speculation. A slow, feline smile curved her red lips.

“You think you can protect her,” she purred. “How sweet. I’m going to find out if she is as delicious as she smells after I’m done with you.

Excerpt #2:

“I always knew you loved me, Conor.” Merry could barely hear her voice over the pounding of her heart. “I didn’t understand. I still don’t, not completely, but I knew. That’s why it hurt so much and why I could never forget. That’s why I had to come home.”

His free hand curled around her neck. She didn’t know if he intended to bring her closer or hold her in place. Her breath caught, and his expression changed to something she recognized, something that turned her breathlessness into searing pain. He pulled her up those last few inches and placed his mouth on hers.

Shock ripped through her the minute their lips touched. She gasped, rising to meet him with pent-up longing and frustration. After a brief, stunned moment, both his hands flew up to hold her face as she gripped his arms. She sighed in relief when his mouth opened over hers, the scorching heat making her head reel and her body want more. She accepted the touch of his tongue, pulled him in and welcomed him as she went blind with pleasure. The compulsion to keep taking and never stop overwhelmed her senses. His taste flooded her soul.

He felt so good.

Merry fought against the desire to ravish more than his mouth, to hold on to reason and keep the contact to just kisses. She had never expected to hold him close again, to be immersed in his heat and scent. Their unique connection proved just as strong as she remembered, and she savored the moment until she had to pull from his embrace or succumb to the temptation of his hovering mouth.

“Conor—” The look on his face gave her a hot thrill of excitement. “Conor.”

Not that you'll be surprised, but Conor definitely has my curiosity peeked.  To me there is nothing hotter than a man willing to give up what he loves to keep the woman he loves safe... even if that means giving up her and the beautiful life they could have lead together!
This book looks pretty good to me, I've added Wraith Redeemed to my "to read" list and plan on starting it as soon as I can!  It's scheduled to release on Amazon for Kindle sometime this week... so make sure to keep your eye out!
Happy Reading!
