The Proposition Review

The Proposition by Katie Ashley

Book description...
With her thirtieth birthday looming, Emma Harrison finds her biological clock clanging and the elusive knight in shining armor yet to appear. She’s running out of options, especially after her gay best friend backs out from being her sperm donor. Of course, there’s always a sperm bank, but Emma fears a donor mix-up might impregnate her with the spawn of Satan.
Resident company womanizer, Aidan Fitzgerald, is used to always getting what he wants, especially in the bedroom. When Emma spurns his advances at the company Christmas party, he's determined to have her no matter what it takes. After Aidan learns of Emma's predicament, he is quick to offer a proposition that will benefit them both. He will father Emma's child, but she must conceive it with him naturally. Not one for hook-ups or casual sex, Emma is reluctant to take him up on his offer, but his charm, coupled with her intense desire for motherhood, wins out.
Soon their baby-making sessions become more than just physical. Aidan can't seem to walk away from her while Emma begins to wonder if Aidan could be the one. But can Aidan leave his past behind to become the man Emma needs him to be?

Well stick a fork in me 'cause I am done... not really because there is another book and I really, really want to know what's going to happen next!  But for the love of Pete... This book totally did it for me!  In a number of ways - Bad boy/player turned sweet and loving - Check!  A heroine who desperately wants 'more' with said bad boy but is afraid to push him too hard too fast - Check!  An ending that freaking knocked my socks off because I don't know if I want to punch them or hug them - Double Check!

Emma was a total sweetheart, granted I didn't totally get her desperation to have kids even if it means she'll be a single mother... but I've also never been there so who am I to judge!  However, I was able to quickly forget about that because she was so loveable and compassionate... not to mention the poor woman just needed a little happy, especially after everything she has been through in her life.  So as I got to know her I grew to love her and the decisions she made... even though some of those decisions broke my heart for her.

Where would you want to look for a 'sperm donor'?  Seriously?  I really do want to know... because I know that I personally, would have chosen the same methods as Emma... all in the sexy arms of Aidan!  Good Lord that man is not only smokin' hot but he's also smart, funny, and even has a heart of gold (whether he will admit it or not).  I just wanted to wrap him up and open him as my birthday present... damn, I just remembered I just had a birthday... because I loved him!

Yes, he struggled with his feelings when he actually realized what he was doing.  But he kept going back to Emma because he knew in his heart that she was the one.  And then.... he ticked me off and I mean really ticked me off... but here is where I have to hand it to Katie and how she handled the situation... because she made me feel sorry for him just enough that I was curious, I am curious, and I can not wait to read the next book!  The Proposition is definitely one to check out, if you don't fall for Aidan the way that I did then... well.. I guess that just means more Aidan for me!

Happy Reading!
