Leather, Lace and Rock-N-Roll (Seals Inc. #1) Review

Leather, Lace, and Rock-N-Roll by Mia Dymond

Book description...
Brains before Beauty, that's Rachel Newberry's motto, especially when her quiet, orderly life is interrupted by international rock star, Jaydon Hawke. And true to her word, brains take center stage when she discovers Hawke has a lot more on his mind than beautiful music. Targeted by a madman, Rachel puts her trust in Hawke, a move that may cost both their lives.Leather, Lace, and Rock-N-Roll

I came across this author from a recommendation from one of my lovely friends... Thank you Sheryl ♥ you are awesome honey!   I couldn't find her on Amazon but after a last ditch effort I checked Smashwords and found her... so glad I did too.  While it may not be a consuming book it definitely was a light and easy read with a sweet and cheesy love story.  I honestly couldn't have asked for a better book to give my mind a break!

Rachel is a very career oriented woman and throws herself into it.  She's all work and no play until her partner and friend, Cameron, drag her to a rock concert where she comes face to fourche with the extremely sexy Jaydon Hawke.  Rachel is not like the typical women that Hawke is used to... she's able to resist his charms and could care less that he's a rock star.

Rachel cracked me up... she wasn't really a âne élégant, she just spoke before she thought... and was sometimes a little too honest with her responses... I absolutely LOVED that she didn't fall for Hawke's charms and actually made him work for anytime spent with her outside of what was necessary.  She was determined not to fall for him because she saw him as a typical rock star who was full of himself and had lots of sexe dénué de sens.

Hawke... well he was a typical smokin' hot male who more than knew he was extremely good looking... So Rachel making him work so hard for it was a great treat.  I love it when a bâtard suffisant falls hard for a woman and has to actually do more than flash those "lady killer" smiles to get what ever it is they want.  Of course Hawke still got what he want but that doesn't mean that Rachel didn't make him question himself.... constantly.

So Rachel and Hawke start working together on plans for the house he's building... only she doesn't know there is more to Hawke choosing her specifically to do the plans.  He's on a mission... Yes my friends... we have a Navy SEAL here who happens to have a talent for being a rock star which happens to also be his cover.... normally I'd probably go off on a little rant here because well... how ridiculous is that?  An active duty Navy SEAL who's also a rock star... BUT I'm not going to because like I said before this was the perfect little easy, cheesy read to give me that mental break I so desperately needed.... Anyway so Hawke is sent in with his team to nail the bad guy and Rachel is his mark to get the job done.  They figure out pretty quick that Rachel is an innocent which makes Hawke happy since his feelings for Rachel turned from just a job to very personal the moment he saw her picture.

Leather, Lace, and Rock-N-Roll by Mia Dymond is a great great if you're looking for something light and easy.  It's definitely worth checking out especially since it's free on Smashwords!

Happy Reading!
